A Cooking Course over Healthy Diet in Chinese Medical Concept

In the modern society, life style and diet are changing with time. On one hand, people are busy with living and eating healthy; on the other hand, people have to struggle with overweight, hyperlipidemia, hypertension, diabetes, and allergy. Moreover, people are willing to make their effort to improve their quality of life: to be energetic, feel fit and avoid to get ill easily, to have a sound sleep, a good memory and concentration, to live longer and healthy, avoid dementia, cancer, heart and brain illness. In this situation, more and more people search a new way that consciously chooses what they eat and how they should cook.
This cooking course is to meet this need. This course will be held regularly and will cover four afternoons. Each of them is divided into three parts.
In the first part, Ms. Yang will introduce the concept of healthy diet in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the common knowledge of nutrition. She will explain the different features of food substances, such as vegetables, fruits, cereals and meat according to the concept of Traditional Chinese medicine, such as the temperature and their special function to the body. In this way, the participants can consciously select different food substances to preparing their meal in a healthy way according to their constitution, age, seasons and medical record.
In the second part, a cooking demonstration will be hold. The dishes are based on the Chinese healthy principles of cooking and medical concern as well as the possibility of cooking and taste for western people. Moreover, some unfamiliar Eastern healthy food substances will be introduced and prepared, such as Dou Fu and other Soya products, seaweed and bamboo shoot. In this way, she hopes to enrich the choice and new taste in your diet.
In the last part, all the participants will have dinner together with the 6 demonstrated dishes, and discover the new tastes and possibilities in a pleasant sphere and in a healthy, inspired way.
Not only for eating healthy, cooking is an arts, a creative work of heart, brain and hands. Cooking is a sort meditation, from which you feel harmony and satisfaction.
